Craig Sloan, Principal

Craig is a serial entrepreneur. At age 22 he founded the GSI Group in his rural home town of Assumption, Illinois.  Over the next 33 years he grew The GSI Group into the world’s largest designer, manufacturer and seller of grain storage and drying equipment.  In addition, he also specialized in automated swine production equipment. GSI soon became the second largest manufacturer of automated confined poultry production systems in the world.  Under Craig’s leadership The GSI Group owned and operated manufacturing plants in the U.S., Brazil, Malaysia, and China and sold its products in 84 countries worldwide.  In May of 2005, Craig sold his controlling interest in GSI to Charles Bank Fund V, a Boston-based private equity fund.  At the time of sale the GSI Group had 1800 employees worldwide and $300 million in annual sales.  Throughout his career Craig has invested in and managed numerous real estate ventures in Florida, Georgia and Illinois.  In addition to Jordan James, Craig currently owns a real estate development company in Southwest Florida and a manufacturing company in Chester, South Carolina.  Craig is also a major shareholder and board member of a nuclear material detection company in San Diego, California.  Craig attended Eastern Illinois University and served in the National Guard from 1970 – 1976.
